Project Summary
Artificial intelligence (AI) is rapidly transforming human resource systems and workforce development. It may boost workforce productivity and enhance capabilities in response to demographic changes. However, disparities in access and skill training could widen existing gaps. This project aims to facilitate policy dialogue and exchange best practices among APEC economies on strategically integrating AI into human resource development. On the first day, policymakers, experts, and scholars discuss workforce transformation driven by AI and strategies to promote participation and benefits for all. Three main areas are covered, namely, 1) AI-Enhanced Human Resource Planning and Policy Support, with a macro-level policy focus; 2) Practical Applications of AI in Workforce Enhancement: Public and Private Sector Perspectives, and 3) AI for All, advancing opportunities for the elderly, women, persons with disabilities, and SMEs. In the second day, AI applications and corporate initiatives that expand opportunities for diverse stakeholders are showcased in field visits.
