Project Summary
This project addresses persistent inequities in prevention, screening, referral, follow-up, and timely care for cervical and breast cancer in the APEC economies. To advance womenβs health, this project will convene a capacity-building seminar during the Third SOM in Dalian, China. Organized by the School of Population Medicine and Public Health of CAMS & PUMC, the seminar will bring together 42 authoritative experts and policymakers from APEC economies as speakers, and 50 participants, including public health professionals and decision-makers. In collaboration with participating APEC economies, the seminar will serve as a multi-economy forum. It will convene experts, policymakers, clinicians, public health professionals, technology providers and civil society representatives to exchange practical digital health innovations, including AI-assisted screening and colposcopy, digital population-management platforms, referral and follow-up tracking systems, and the intelligent Digital Education tool for Colposcopy (iDECO). Discussions will cover adaptation for economies with different resource levels, breast cancer diagnostic pathways, treatment adherence, survivorship care, and health-system preparedness. Outputs will include implementation cases, operational recommendations, digital tools and a project summary report to support regional collaboration on integrated womenβs cancer prevention and control.
