Project scope and objective
IDB Invest is considering a long-term secured loan to Compañía Minera del Pacífico S.A. ( CMP ). The funds will be used for the expansion of CMP’s lime production plant in San Juan, Argentina, and will include the installation of a high energy-efficiency vertical kiln.

CMP is one of the main producers of lime for the industrial sector in Argentina and a subsidiary of Cementos Bío Bío S.A. ( CBB ), a Chilean company listed on the Santiago Stock Exchange. The Company is engaged in the production of cement, concrete, and lime, with operations in Chile, Peru, and Argentina.
