Description:
The Wild Seve program (Seve stands for service in Kannada) is an early human-wildlife conflict response program to ensure.expedited action during incidents involving crop loss, property damage, livestock loss, human injury, or death. Using a web.portal, toll-free helpline and SMS reporting system, Centre for Wildlife Studies has created a local response system with their.field staff, who arrive on site and assist with evaluating and filing claims. Data collected on the Wild Connect platform allows.responders to collect data even when internet connections are not available. The purpose of this project is to (1) Establish and.expand Wild Seve presence around 1200-1500 village settlements surrounding 12 tiger reserves in Karnataka, Kerala and Tamil.Nadu over 5 years; (2) Assist in filing claims related to tiger conflict around 12 tiger reserves over 5 years; (3) Mitigate human.big cat conflict through 325 predator-proof sheds and other tools; and (4) Implement 300 Wild Surakshe public safety and.awareness workshops on tiger conflict, engaging 15,000 frontline government staff and community leaders
