Project Description : Effective communications is the most critical aspect of public safety. This consists of communications with the public, communications with the firefighters, Windsor Fire and Rescue staff and other emergency services. Emergency communications is about to enter a significant and sustained period of transformation which will be legislated in year 2025. This will include a move to Next Generation 911 (NG911) and the implementation of the North American public safety broadband spectrum. Replacement of the aging telephone system at WFRS headquarters will be required in order to accommodate the new technology
