π Tender Overview
Objective
The project will carry out the executive design and the construction works in the core Port of Genova, in particular at the Sampierdarena Port Basin in the Parco Fuori Muro. It aims to upgrade the railway yard in order to accommodate trains of up to 750 m. It will install the electric traction system, carry out the reconfiguration of the Supervision and Control System (including the Multistation Supervision and Control System) and the signalling system, thus ensuring the circulation of dual-use traffic, meaning military and civil. The project is part of the global project improving the Genoa Railway Node, the third Giovi Pass, as well as the last mile connection of the port.
In the long run, the railway infrastructure serving the core Port of Genoa will allow a faster and more optimized movement of goods as well as the adaptation of the system to accommodate trains of up to 750 metres in length, with benefits for the entire logistics chain.
