The Prime Ministry Office of Lebanon has requested the UNCT to develop a programme to develop productive sectors namely: manufacturing, agro-food and agriculture. The UNCT tasked UNIDO and FAO as lead of the initiative following an assessment undertaken in 2016/17 on the sectors' potential on job creation and economic opportunities. Several discussions were held within the UNSF outcome group (thematic working group) on productive sector development. The RC has pledged to support resource mobilization, within the international community in Lebanon.
