📋 Tender Overview
Scope of Work:
Construction of Tiwi Hydrogen Project (TWP).
Description:
The so-called Tiwi Hydrogen Project (TWP) will be launched with the construction of a 500-MW solar photovoltaic (PV) park that will be gradually expanded to 2,800 MW. The ultimate goal of the initiative is to produce up to 100,000 tonnes of green hydrogen per year and export it to the Asia-Pacific region, specifically in Singapore, Indonesia, South Korea and Japan, and thus build a fully integrated green hydrogen production and export supply chain.
Perth-based Green Energy Ventures intends to install the complex on a 1,800-ha (4,448-acre) portion of land cleared for plantation use. In order to store the produced hydrogen, it will deploy its compressed ship loading solution. Access is available to existing port infrastructure and industrial precinct at Port Melville. The Aussie firm expects to reach financial close on the project’s first phase in 2023 and make the first hydrogen exports in 2026, subject to obtaining all commercial and regulatory approvals and securing the off-take.
