PROJECT DESCRIPTION (DE)
Initial situation: Vietnam is one of the fastest growing countries in Asia economically. Industry, the service sector and the digital economy are driving this development. However, there are risks to long-term growth due to the lack of qualified specialists and women, people with disabilities and ethnic minorities have less access to decent employment. Another negative effect of economic growth is the high consumption of resources and the environmental and climate impact.
In view of these challenges, the vocational training system is crucial to preparing the country for a socially just, digital and environmentally conscious transformation (Just Twin Transition). It must qualify specialists with future-proof skills. However, vocational training is currently not sufficiently open and inclusive or geared to the needs of the economy.
Objective: The Vietnamese vocational training system makes a contribution to socially just, green and digital change.
Approach: The project promotes the establishment and expansion of cooperation between vocational schools, business and civil society. The cooperation is intended to increase the relevance, quality and attractiveness of vocational training. The project also advises politicians on how to further develop the legal framework for dual vocational training.
