PROJECT DESCRIPTION (DE)
Initial situation
The Egyptian government sees digitalization as a particularly suitable strategy for accelerating administrative processes and improving the provision of public services. This will enable it to redeploy staff elsewhere in the future, thereby increasing efficiency in the public sector.
However, public representatives lack expertise and examples of how human rights and regulations can be implemented in digitalization. Citizens are also insufficiently active in digital transformation. They lack training on data protection and digital inclusion.
Objective
The Egyptian government provides digital and citizen-centric services. The population is involved in the digital transformation.
Approach
The project promotes innovation to digitize public administration. It advises the Egyptian government and supports citizens in building digital skills. The project works in the following areas:
- It expands the knowledge of government and non-government representatives through digitalization training.
- It also networks those responsible for digital matters to improve public services. For this purpose, it develops innovation centers.
- The project advises the government on strategies and coordination for a just digital transformation.
- At the same time, it works with civil society organizations that develop the digital skills of disadvantaged population groups through training.
