This Public-Private Development Partnership (PPDP) project aims at creating decent employment opportunities in the Heavy-Duty Industrial Equipment and Commercial Vehicles (HDIECV) industry in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. The project is designed to improve the relevance and quality of TVET in the HDIECV sector and to ensure that experienced and new Congolese professionals and SMEs are equipped with marketable skills that enhance their employability and value integration prospects. The project will contribute to strengthening collaboration mechanisms between TVET and labor market players and to modernizing curricula in cooperation with the private sector. The project will also contribute to establishing (1) Center of Excellence for HDIECV training in secondary education and (2) Center of Excellence for professional HDIECV training. The project applies the Market Systems Development approach in line with the Making Markets Work for the Poor (M4P) operational guide and was developed based on the market analysis and market/labor and training needs assessment conducted under the design phase project (SAP# 190404).
