PROJECT DESCRIPTION (DE)
Initial situation
In Pakistan, two to three million young people enter the job market every year, many of them without formal training. The state vocational training system is unable to offer enough training places that adequately prepare them for employment in the economy or as qualified self-employed persons. For cultural reasons, women are severely disadvantaged in terms of training, employment, income and social participation.
Objective
Vocational training institutes in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Punjab regions are better able to plan and manage in a needs-oriented manner. Vocational school graduates and job seekers find employment in growth sectors more easily.
Approach
The project improves the demand orientation of vocational training, expands knowledge and skills in the vocational training system, facilitates access to education for women and involves the private sector more closely.
In order to exploit the potential of growth sectors, the project promotes new training content in the areas of digitalization and green skills (skills for a sustainable economy). This gives young vocational school graduates and job seekers in these sectors better job prospects.
The project focuses on the following areas:

β’ Promoting entry into the job market and career planning
β’ Orienting training more towards digitalisation and green skills
β’ Continuing training for vocational training staff
β’ Improving access to incom
