The project in brief
Background Young people make up the majority of the Guinean population, 77% of whom are under 35 years old. High unemployment among young people is a major concern (72% of whom are between 15 and 34 years old). Despite technical training, young people struggle to find employment due to the gap between the training offer and the demands of the labor market, the lack of career guidance and the limited means (technical and financial) available to them to be independent. Faced with these challenges, many young people are tempted to migrate to Europe by taking irregular and dangerous routes.
Objectives Contribute to the sustainable self-employment and empowerment of young men and women leaving technical and vocational training centers in Conakry and the Faranah and N'ZΓ©rΓ©korΓ© regions.
Target groups
Young Guineans from post-primary and secondary learning and training centers
Small and medium-sized enterprises run by young people
Trainers and supervisors of the Learning and Professional Training Centers
Higher Institute of Agronomy and Veterinary Science (ISAV)
Medium-term outcomes Outcome 1: Better career guidance for young people is made possible thanks to the increased expertise of vocational training centres and their partners. Outcome 2: Young people who have followed training in post-primary and secondary apprenticeship and vocational training centers have improved their professional integration by engaging in economic activities corresponding to their areas of training.
Results Expected results:
1.1. Existing known employment opportunities (Conakry, Faranah, N'ZΓ©rΓ©korΓ©), 50 executives informed
