Project General Description
The current CSP of the Union of the Comoros, which will be reviewed mid-term in 2023, focuses on a single pillar relating to the development of sustainable and high-quality basic infrastructure in the transport and energy sectors , with special attention to cross-cutting aspects such as sector governance. By supporting digital infrastructure and platforms, PADEC is consistent with the process of strengthening sector governance, as it will help to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of public services in various priority sectors, including transport and energy.
Project Objectives
The project’s main objective is to improve the governance, quality, affordability and accessibility of relevant public services provided to users. More specifically, it aims to encourage the emergence of a comprehensive and coherent range of digital services capable of meeting the population’s needs and ultimately bringing the country into the information society.
Beneficiaries
The main beneficiaries of PADEC comprise: Citizens, associations and private enterprises, as users of the digital services provided. Government services, given that the project will provide them with digital services to facilitate the deployment, operation and pooling of IT resources, thereby improving responsiveness, performance and innovative capacity. State employees, since they will be provided with a working environment and digital tools to improve comfort, efficiency and productivity. Young local entrepreneurs and innovators who, thanks to the project, will contribute to the emergence of an endogenous ecosystem capable of responding to local needs with local solutions.
