Description
This TA will address the requirements for implementation of the new Environmental and Social Framework (ESF) and will improve DMC and private sector client understanding and their capacity for implementing the ESF across ADB financed projects. It will support the action areas of the 3-year ESF Rollout Plan on (i) comprehensive capacity-building program and resources for DMCs and clients prepared; (ii) DMC and private sector capacity building plan implemented; and (iii) strategic partnerships developed.
Project Rationale and Linkage to Country/Regional Strategy
The ESF was approved by the Board of Directors on 22 November 2024. As with the 2009 Safeguard Policy Statement (SPS), the ESF will apply to all ADB-financed and/or ADB-administered sovereign and non-sovereign projects.
