Scope : To Expand Steel Plant at Sripura in Jharsuguda district of Odisha.
L N Metallics is awaiting environmental clearance (EC) to expand its existing steel plant at Sripura in Jharsuguda district of Odisha.
The proposed unit will be spread over 33.18 hectares of land parcel.
The manufacturing products includes beneficiation plant with a capacity of 9,00,000 tpa; palletisation plant with a capacity of 6,00,000 tpa; sponge iron with a capacity of 2,97,000 tpa; billets with the capacity of 1,57,500 tpa; rolling mill with a capacity of 1,50,000 tpa; captive power plant with a capacity of 46 MW (21 MW WHRB + 25 MW CFBC); submerged arc furnace with a capacity of 2x9 MVA for ferro alloys; and ferro manganese with the capacity of 36,000 tpa.
The total water requirement will be 4489 kld, which will be met through the Bhedan River. The project will provide direct employment for 1100 people and indirect employment for 2500 people.
In September 2021, the State Level Single Window Clearance Authority (SLSWCA) approved the project. Likewise, L N Metallics received terms of reference (ToR) for the project from the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEF&CC) in October 2022.
The company expects to begin the work on the project in Q4/FY24. In addition, the contractor and machinery supplier are yet to be finalised.
