Project General Description
The Support Program for Inclusive Solidarity Agriculture for Women and Youth, designated under the acronym PAASIFEJ, constitutes a strategic sustainable rural development initiative in Morocco covering a six-year period from 2025 to 2030. This ambitious program aligns perfectly with Morocco's Generation Green Strategy 2020-2030 and aims to significantly contribute to improving food security, creating sustainable employment, and strengthening the resilience of Moroccan smallholder agriculture to climate change effects. The initiative represents an integrated and inclusive approach specifically targeting social and economic inclusion of rural women and youth through agricultural infrastructure development, rural entrepreneurship support, institutional capacity building, and adaptation to contemporary climate challenges.
Project Objectives
PAASIFEJ pursues an ambitious development objective articulated around three interconnected strategic pillars aimed at sustainably transforming Moroccan agriculture. First, the program seeks to contribute to improving national food security by strengthening productivity and sustainability of smallholder agriculture. Third, the program aspires to strengthen the resilience of Moroccan smallholder agriculture to climate change effects by promoting adapted and sustainable agricultural practices, thus contributing to both climate adaptation and mitigation while ensuring rural livelihood sustainability.
Beneficiaries
The PAASIFEJ program geographically targets seven strategic Moroccan regions with strong potential for solidarity agriculture and rural entrepreneurship development, including Draa Tafilalet, Béni Mellal Khénifra, Fès Meknès, Marrakech Safi, Oriental, Souss Massa, and Tanger Tétouan Al Hoceima. These regions, characterized by their significant agricultural potential, represent priority strategic areas for strengthening social and economic inclusion of vulnerable rural populations. Primary direct beneficiaries include smallholder farmers, rural youth, and rural women who will constitute the priority target for the program's economic and social inclusion initiatives. The program specifically commits to promoting economic inclusion of rural youth and women by supporting entrepreneurship through targeted agricultural and rural entrepreneurship support initiatives, including adapted financing mechanisms, specialized technical training,
