PROJECT DESCRIPTION (DE)
Initial situation
The project is based on the international, European and national frameworks for managing migration and aims to strengthen the development-promoting effects of migration in the countries of origin. The Global Compact for Safe, Orderly and Regular Migration (GCM) takes priority here. 164 states, including Germany, adopted the GCM on December 10, 2018 in Marrakesh. The framework addresses migration policy goal 10.7 of the 2030 Agenda and differentiates it into 23 (sub-)goals for national migration policy.
Objective
The administrative and financial prerequisites for development-oriented knowledge transfer and exchange within the framework of the Migration & Diaspora (PMD) program are increasingly being created.
Approach
The program operates on behalf of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ).
The framework for these activities is provided by the Global Compact for Safe, Orderly, and Regular Migration, the 2030 Agenda, the planned Skilled Immigration Act, and the National Action Plan on Integration.
The BMZ's commitment within the global project "Migration and Diaspora Program" (PMD) is derived from these development policy guidelines. The PMD promotes strategic development at the individual and organizational level and strengthens networks and cooperation in the field of development-oriented migration.
