Scope :
Silali – Emurulongoyak Line is a 400kV overhead line with a length of 40km from Silali, Rift Valley, Kenya, to Emurulongoyak, Kenya.
The project is expected to be commissioned in 2033.
Silali – Emurulongoyak Line is an overhead line that will be operated by Kenya Electricity Transmission. The line will carry alternating current (AC) through double circuit cable.
Approximately $20.8m was financed by the authorities to undertake the construction works of the project. The construction works on the Silali – Emurulongoyak Line project will be commenced in 2032 and commissioning is expected in 2033. Kenya Electricity Transmission Co Ltd (KETRACO) is an electric utility company that develops electricity transmission infrastructure. The utility plans, designs, constructs, owns, operates and maintains high voltage electricity transmission grid and regional power interconnectors. Its services include the construction of transmission pylons, conductors and substations. KETRACO operates transmission lines of various capacities. It also develops a grid system to improve the quality and reliability of electricity supply, evacuates power from planned generation plants, reduces transmission losses, reduces the cost of electricity, and others.
