Description
Russia’s invasion of Ukraine has heightened concerns about the loyalties of Latvia’s large Russian-speaking population and underscored the urgent need for their integration into Latvian and European society. Supported by the Marie Sklodowska-Curie Actions programme, the SPAGINTEG project will explore how young Russophones in Latvia shape their own experiences beyond state-driven narratives. It will examine how these young people navigate everyday life in an ethnocentric society, contributing new empirical insights to the study of minority integration in multiethnic contexts. The research will include ethnographic fieldwork and engage with broader issues of post-Soviet identity and minority politics in the Baltic region.
