Scope : To Establish Research and Innovation Lab at SLIIT Kandy Uni in Pallakale, Sri Lanka
The SLIIT Kandy UNI has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with global tech giant Huawei to foster joint research efforts and establish an Innovation Lab at SLIIT Kandy Uni in Pallakale.
The MoU was signed by Prof. Lakshman Ratnayake, Chairman/Chancellor SLIIT and Zhang Jinze (Zeh), CEO of Huawei Technologies Lanka.
The Huawei ICT Academy Innovation Lab in Kandy will provide state-of-the-art facilities for research and product development. The partnership aims to build local ICT talent through collaborative research, training programs, certifications, internships, industrial and field training opportunities.
Initially, SLIIT and Huawei will establish a Certified Training Center to train SLIIT staff, who will then provide training to external parties.
The partnership will offer visitation opportunities for Kandy Uni students and academic staff to Huawei facilities. In addition, innovation challenges and competitions will be organized among the Kandy Uni students and expanded to schools while guest lectures and tech talks will also be conducted.
