π Tender Overview
REFORM is a project aiming at the up-skilling of various target groups (i.e., coaches in sports academies, health professionals in clubs, parents, and players) to increase awareness for concussions, reduce concussions in sports, and improve management and a safe return to play for concussed players. As such, the aim of the project is to promote safe football for youth by harmonizing and implementing concussion guidelines and protocols across European football. The project ensures best-practice tools and resources are placed in the hands of those who need them and has an impact in two key ways:
1. Improved concussion recognition and management in football among national football associations, clubs, coaches and health professionals.
2. Increased awareness and confidence among national parents, and youth about how to prevent, recognize, and manage concussions and where to access evidence-based concussion information.
The project will use a stakeholder approach with UEFA, national football associations, clubs (with coachesβ healthcare staff, players, and parents), healthcare, and academia to interdisciplinary and transnationally develop, test, and implement innovative educational material and material for concussion awareness for the different stakeholders that harmonize and build on each other.
