The Quality programme for the chemical value chain proposed for Colombia, whose overall objective is to foster Colombia’s integration into the regional and multilateral trading systems, through the strengthening of the National Quality Subsystem (SICAL) in the framework of the Chemical Value Chain priorities and the increase and improvement of MSME’s capacities to comply with technical requirements, international quality, private and sustainability standards required for trade facilitation; is aligned to the three results of the Global Quality and Standards Programme (GQSP) and is designed to contribute directly to Component 1 (Strenghtening of the QI Institutions), to generate and disseminate globally those resulting from the research and experience developed in the project under Component 2 (Technical assistance to support MSMEs). The project proposes a series of activities that contribute to the establishment of good practices, methodologies, studies and lessons learned that can be replicated in other sectors in Colombia, as well as in other countries
