Objectives
The aim of the Protecting You and Others: Community infection prevention behavior change program (ProY&O) project is to develop an educational program aimed at promoting preventing behavior capable of preventing the transmission of respiratory infections among disadvantaged populations. In addition, we aim to improve the health and e-health literacy of citizens and train stakeholders to implement the program on long-term as a European health promotion evidence-based strategy.
Activities
The main activities that it will be implemented are (1) establishing a framework for developing the ProY&O Program; (2) developing a community respiratory infection prevention-related behaviors assessment tool; (3) designing and piloting the ProY&O Program; (4) implementing and sharing of the program by developing a toolkit and disseminating the results with national and transnational events for stakeholders who will be included in the entire project as a Public Involvement Strategy.
Impact
The main result will be (a) the educational program for developing competencies on self-care behaviors to prevent the acquirement and transmission of respiratory infections. This program will be evidence-based, effective, sustainable, tailored to disadvantaged populations with different learning needs, (b) stakeholders/health professional and NGOs activists trained on the preventive behaviors and strategies to effectively implement the developed program amongst disadvantaged population.
