The PAGAI program aims to improve the access of 55000 Haitian family farms to a political framework and appropriate agricultural services. To achieve this the program will support the organizations of rural producers farmers organizations which will be strengthened in their internal governance in their role of consultation negotiation of services and in their capacity to defend the interests and advocate for the farmers. from Haiti.Despite an unfavorable environment Haitian family farms remain the main producers of food and agricultural innovation in Haiti. Each year small producers bring in the agricultural sector 7 times more than agro-industrial initiatives jobs income etc.. Despite this family farms do not receive the support necessary to strengthen their activities and contribute to a sustainable improvement of the agricultural system. In Haiti there are hundreds of farmer organizations POs that want to promote the voice and priorities of their producers but their organizational technical and networking capacities are limited. POs are not considered in the consultation programming and decision-making processes of the agricultural sector. The main agricultural projects and programs underway in Haiti relate to strengthening the supply of services and restructuring the Ministry of Agriculture World Bank and IDB. The Support Program for Inclusive Agricultural Governance in Haiti PAGAI wants to complement these projects by linking the supply of services and agricultural policies to the demands of producers through their POs. In this way the services and the political framework will be more appropriate to the needs and initiatives of the rural world. Thus the program aims at ensuring that family farms and their female and male members develop their agricultural activities and their income. By supporting POs the PAGAI program wants to contribute toThe strategic and political processes of the agricultural sector follow a logic of participation of the rural world and respond better to the demands and ideas of family farms and their male and female members. The agricultural services consider and respond better to the requests and initiatives of family farms and support them in the development of their agricultural activities. To achieve this the SDC will support POs in a process of building technical organizational institutional and networking capacities. FOs should be able to participate in sectoral consultations and political dialogue as well as to effect changes in operating systems to improve their production income in quantity and quality. The SDC will also undertake to conduct a political dialogue for an environment more favorable to the participation of POs in planning and decision-making spaces and for their innovative activities. The PAGAI program will contribute to the priorities defined by the Ministry of Agriculture such as the provision of agricultural services and the institutional strength
