To assist the group in conducting relevant research into the Vetiver Plant as a means of reducing soil erosion and improving land management. The Planning Grant will also assist the grantee in designing a community composting programme for the village of Canaries as a complementary activity and preparing a business plan, which will help to prove the viability of the project as a community enterprise. On completion of this planning phase, a Full Grant Proposal is expected for review and a decision by the NSC.
