DESCRIPTION
The project will support urgent post-disaster response and reconstruction measures in Portugal, following the strong winds, heavy rainfalls floods and landslides in winter 2026, as well as risk prevention and adaptation measures to address climate change risks.
OBJECTIVES
The aim is to foster economic, social and territorial cohesion through this countrywide recovery operation. The majority of investment schemes are expected to take place in municipalities and regions in which living standards are below the EU average and which would not be able to afford the substantial recovery effort without financial support from the national government and European grant and loan sources.
