The Politics Of Citizen Opposition To Urban Development
Explaining Public Opposition To Urban Developmenturban Politics Experience A Significant Division Between Proponents Of Ambitious Development Projects And Those Opposing Any Form Of Innovation. Local Public Opinion Plays A Pivotal Role In Determining Whether Cities Adopt Urban Development. According To Evidence, When Housing Prices Surge, Opposition To Urban Development Also Increases. However, A Comprehensive Theory That Elucidates This Opposition Is Currently Lacking. With This In Mind, The Erc-Funded Policity Project Aims To Clarify Public Opinion On Urban Development. It Will Provide Substantial Evidence On How The Housing Market Influences Opposition. The Project Intends To Develop A Cutting-Edge Theoretical Model To Quantify This Opposition, Which Will Be Implemented Through A Survey In Cities Across Western Europe And The United States.
