PROJECT DESCRIPTION (DE)
Colombia prioritizes the transition to a low-carbon economy in its 2022-2026 National Development Plan. The plan also emphasizes energy efficiency and renewable energy in public buildings and cities, as they account for approximately 20 percent of energy consumption. Promoting energy efficiency and renewable energy in cities and public buildings also reduces costs, creates jobs, promotes economic development, and improves the quality of life.
However, there is a lack of framework conditions, standards, knowledge, and access to financing to harness the potential for efficiency and renewable energy.
Factors such as gender inequalities and the consequences of the armed conflict in the country further complicate the implementation of inclusive climate policies. Women are underrepresented in the energy sector and in decision-making.
Goal: Improved conditions, pilot projects, and easier access to financing to expand energy efficiency and renewable energy in public buildings and cities will contribute to the energy transition.
The project works with national and local government representatives:
1. It advises on political frameworks, strategies, and access to financing to facilitate the energy transition, paying particular attention to the needs of women.
2. It also implements pilot projects in cities that test and expand innovative approaches to energy efficiency and renewable energies.
3. It promotes exchange between decision-makers through events.
4. Furthermore, it contributes to the climate partnership between Germany and Colombia by promoting pol
