Plot 9 will comprise two units, each offering 36,000ft2 of office and technical space.
The expansion of MTP is claimed to be driven by advancements in low-carbon automotive technology including electric vehicles, hydrogen fuels, and autonomous and connected car technologies.
The latest development follows a 2.3 million ft2 expansion of MTP, which received planning approval last month. The construction start of this next phase of facilities is another major landmark for MTP, building on the infrastructure investment and recent planning approval for the 2.3mft2 MIRA South Site.
The new units will be steel framed utilising cladding that aligns with the existing MTP development. They will include open-plan workshops, offices, service yards, parking, and will meet CAT A fit-out standards. The project also encompasses the construction of an adjacent access road and the installation of site-wide services.
