πŸ“‹ Tender Overview

Planning Office: Technical Cooperation

Project Name: Paraguayan Platypus Commercial Production Project

Project status: Project in progress

Cooperating countries: South America, Paraguay

Plan contents:

Platyfish (formal name: striped duckbill catfish, scientific name: Pseudoplatystoma fasciatum), large rabbit-billed carp (scientific name: Leporinus spp), ParanΓ‘ salmon (formal name: Chinook carp, scientific name:) in the natural rivers of Paraguay Brycon orbignyanus) are all fish species with high economic value. They have been reduced due to overfishing in recent years, and ParanΓ‘ salmon is almost facing an extinction crisis. Since the Republic of China in 1999, the Ministry of Agriculture and Animal Husbandry of Brazil and the Taiwanese Technical Mission have jointly promoted the breeding of freshwater fish in Brazil. Over the past few years, they have achieved remarkable results in the breeding programs of tilapia, freshwater white pomfret and duckbill fish. The achievements have been recognized by the government and the public in Pakistan; therefore, based on existing cooperation, Pakistan hopes to expand domestic aquaculture industry opportunities and achieve the purpose of diversifying breeding. It is proposed to use hybrid genetic technology to improve the survival rate and reduce the residual food characteristics of platypus, a highly economical species native to the local area, so as to achieve the purpose of commercial breeding. At the same time, feasibility technology development is carried out in response to the needs of the Brazilian government and farmers for diversified farming species, such as ParanΓ‘ salmon, large rabbit fat carp, and freshwater shrimp (official name: freshwater long-armed prawn, scientific name: Macrobrachium rosenbergii). The relevant work content of this project is as follows: 1. Establishing a commercial duckbill fish farming model; 2. Development of technology for the diversity of cultured species; 3.
