Offshore Wind Virginia Tender

Project Location VirginiaUnites States Project Background US-based power company Dominion Energy has selected Spanish wind turbine manufacturer Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy SGRE as the preferred turbine supplier for its 2.64GW offshore wind project in Virginia.Located 27 miles off the coast of Virginia Beach the offshore wind project will be built on a 112800-acre area and generate carbon-free electricity that will be sufficient to power 650000 Virginia homes at rated wind speed.According to the agreement SGRE will supply wind turbines from its Offshore Direct Drive platform. The installation is scheduled to be completed in 2026.
