π Tender Overview
Since the beginning of the 21st century, good governance has become a must when sports organisations are facing cases of corruption, doping, match fixing and mismanagement. Managers of sport organisations should strive to gain a better understanding of the governance and management situation in their organisation. Consequently, we believe that obtaining information about our sport organisations, and good management practices in the sport sector will enable sport organisations to face future challenges and set objectives for their sustainability and development.
This project aims to create an automated and open digital tool to help sports organisations implement good governance practices by benchmarking different key areas of their management.
Based on the background and experience in the development of the first European project "OD4SG", in which data was collected from more than 500 sport organisations, we aim to create an IT tool that can be widely implemented worldwide. In this way, making the project a longitudinal study with the aim that the "Open Data" platform can walk on its own over the years, sport stakeholders will be able to analyse past, present, and good management practices to better self-manage.
Specifically, the project will contribute to the structured and systematic exchange of good practices; to promote intersectoral cooperation; to favour the digitalization of the sector; and establish dialogue between sports organisations. We are fully convinced that the approach of the project will contribute to having healthier and more sustainable organisations over time.
Open Data For Sport Governance 2.0 will bring together 6 countries of the European Union but the aim is that the tool is widely used by all the sport organisations and will become a reference management tool to support them.
