Scope of Work:
Construction of Nuclear Power Project in Kilifi, a town on the coast.

Description:
The site was selected following feasibility studies conducted by the Nuclear Power and Energy Agency (NuPea). NuPea was targeting for construction works to begin in 2030 for Kenya’s first nuclear power plant, with the aim of beginning commercial operation in 2036. Kenya made initial steps towards the development of nuclear power in 2019 when it enacted the Nuclear Regulatory Act – which sets up the Kenya Nuclear Regulatory Authority (KNRA).
