Location Parramatta and Sydney CBD Construction of the Metro West line connecting Sydneys CBD and Parramatta could be fast-tracked to start in 2020.The underground rail project will have the capacity to move 46000 commuters an hour almost double the 26000 passengers the current line moves.Travel times between Sydneys CBD and Parramatta would be slashed to just 20 minutes. There will be stations at Westmead Parramatta Sydney Olympic Park North Strathfield Burwood North Five Dock The Bays Precinct and the City. The project is expected to take eight years to complete from when construction starts.APRIL 2020 The NSW government has initiated the expressions of interest EoI for the first two major infrastructure packages to build twin tunnels between Westmead and The Bays.
