PROJECT DESCRIPTION (DE)
Since 2021, the Palestinian Authority's National TVET Commission has been tasked with unifying and managing the previously highly fragmented vocational training system. The project aims to provide support in this regard, thereby contributing to an improvement in overall conditions on the Palestinian labor market.
The target groups are current and future vocational students who will have access to demand-oriented vocational training offers throughout the Palestinian territories. The target group includes young women in particular, whose share in the vocational training system currently amounts to around 30% of the total of around 70,000 vocational students. Around 40% of the target group live in the Gaza Strip. It is hardly possible for them to leave the limited territory to pursue training or employment outside of it. The target group also includes disadvantaged population groups from the C areas, which are under complete Israeli control, and Palestinians with refugee status.
Output 1 aims to strengthen the management and technical capacities of the Vocational Training Commission for improved management of vocational training.
Output 2 aims to create standard vocational training processes coordinated between key public and private actors. This also includes processes for professional standards and curricula and their anchoring in the system.
Output 3 aims to improve the quality and quantity of cooperative training, particularly at model vocational training institutions. To ensure long-term success, staff in chambers, educational institutions and companies are trained.
