Naikun Offshore Wind Tender

Scope NaiKun Wind Energy Group Inc. NKW and ENMAX Green Power Inc. EGPI are undertaking the NaiKun Offshore Wind Farm project in British Columbia Canada.The project involves the construction of a 1750MW offshore wind farm and is planned to be executed in multiple phases. It will include the construction wind towers substations and related facilities the installation of 300 wind turbines an electric feeder system nacelles and wind electric converters and generators and the laying of transmission lines.The first phase will include the construction of a 396MW wind farm and two substations the installation of 110 turbines to be located between Queen Charlotte Islands and mainland of British Columbia.In August 2008 NKW registered its proposal for first phase with BC Hydro as part of the Clean Power Call request for proposal RFP process.MT Hjgaard of Denmark has been awarded marine contract for design supply and installation of wind turbine foundations scour protection and inter-array cables.On November 20 2008 NKW signed a letter of intent LOI to negotiate an agreement to purchase up to 110 wind turbine generators from Siemens Wind Power Siemens.In December 2010 NKW received environmental approval.In March 2011 NKW secured all required permits which was earlier rejected in March 2010.On December 21 2012 NKW announced that it has signed a preferred supplier agreement PSA with Siemens Canada Ltd.Siemens will be assisting NKW in advancing the development of first phase using 110 of Siemens New SWT-4.0-130 4MW turbines.Siemens will also cooperate with the foundation designer in design and certification of turbine tower transition piece and foundation.On August 25 2014 Buckland Taylor Ltd BT with support from parent company COWI and sister company Ocean and Coastal Consultants Inc. OCC was appointed to provide local project management coordination and expert engineering and technical support.In January 2015 the developer secured five-year permit extension for the first phase.Planning activities are underway. Construction is slated to commence in December 2019. Meanwhile NKW continues to meet for a power purchase agreement.Canadian power producer Northland Power Inc TSENPI will take over the development of the NaiKun offshore wind project in the Hecate Strait off the coast of British Columbia Canada. This was announced on Monday by NaiKun Wind Energy Group Inc CVENKW which has entered into an agreement to sell its fully-owned unit NaiKun Wind Development Inc to Northland. Under the terms of the deal once the project reaches its financial close NaiKun will get a payment based on the size of the developed scheme and an option to buy up to a 10 stake in Northlands interest in the project. Also upon completion of the wind farm NaiKun will receive an annual cash distribution from the plant after the operating costs and specified return on equity have been recovered by Northland the announcement s
