PROJECT DESCRIPTION (DE)
The Local Governance Reform Programme (LGRP III) supports municipalities and village councils in providing their public services in a more inclusive, effective, and efficient manner. LGRP III is implemented by GIZ in close partnership with the Palestinian Ministry of Local Government (MoLG), the Municipal Development and Lending Fund (MDLF), the Ministry of Finance (MoF), and the Association of Palestinian Local Authorities (APLA), as well as other national bodies such as the Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics (PCBS), the Palestinian Anti-Corruption Commission (PACC), and selected civil society organizations.
The programme operates in four closely linked main intervention areas: (1) Citizen-centric and data-driven local development and spatial planning (2) More transparent and efficient local financial management (3) Institutionalized mechanisms for accountability, transparency, and inclusive citizenship (4) Local contributions to the 2030 Agenda.
