Scope :
Mpanda Substation is a 400kV substation located in Mpanda, Katavi, Tanzania.
The Mpanda Substation project’s construction is expected to begin in 2025. The works are expected to be commissioned in 2026.
Mpanda Substation project, which is a new substation, will be operated by Tanzania Electric Supply.
The designed voltage level of the substation is 400/132/33kV and the operating voltage level is 400/132/33kV.
The step-in voltage of the project is 400kV and the step-out voltage is 33kV. Upon completion, the substation will have a capacity of 120MVA.
Mpanda Substation project development status
The project is expected to be commissioned in 2026. Approximately $3.58m was financed by the authorities to undertake the construction works of the project.
