The EU4EU Consortium facilitates the transition between higher education and access to employment, through the organization of professional internships abroad with focus on EU projects, under the Erasmus+ Program.
The EU4EU Consortium awards scholarships for highly qualified internship experiences from 2 to 6 months, using an inclusive approach open to the blended mobilities, and digitized and sustainable procedures. With the aim of maximizing the employment impact, traineeships promote the development of skills such as project writing and management, communication in international environments, linguistic and digital skills, analytical and problem-solving abilities which significantly enrich trainees' curricular profiles, can be easily used in other professional sectors, and can increase the prospects for the employment and self-employment of participants. Italy shows one of the highest unemployment rate of young people in the EU.
Coordinator of the Italian Consortium is the non-profit association EuGen-European Generation, established in Italy in 2015, founder, intermediary organization and international coordinator of the EU4EU National Consortia during the rogramming period 2014-2020 in Italy, Spain, France and Croatia. Taking on the role leader of the EU4EU Italy project, EUGEN will continue and furtherer develop the path undertaken for 6 years in this direction.
The EU4EU Italy Consortium aims to be as representative as possible of the national territory, including 12 Italian universities distributed in 10 regions: University of Padua, Parma, Perugia, Polytechnic of the Marche, Tuscia, Sapienza, Tor Vergata, Teramo, Federico II of Naples, Bari, Catania and Cagliari. The continued participation of many of the partners of the previous edition is an indication of their satisfaction with the excellent results achieved. Some HEI partner have first-level experience in participating in European projects, others in training in the European projects' writing; each one is highly motivated to offer their own students innovative and international training. Partners' diversities mutually enrich each other, also in view of future collaborations.
The EU4EU Italy Consortium is part of the European network of EU4EU National Consortia, built in 2015 to respond to similar employment needs of young graduates in different EU countries. The EU4EU network has been active in Italy, Spain, France and Croatia, with overall excellent results: 1700 internships carried out, 94% very satisfied participants and 80% of post-graduate trainees received a collaboration offer. Even in times of a COVID pandemic all the mobility grants available for the projects are assigned.
The collaboration among leaders of the national Consortia enhances the efficient management of mobilities through the sharing of best practices, a common highly innovative management software, and a wide and consolidated database of Host Organizations.
