Construction of 3-GW Mid West Offshore Wind Farm.
Description:
Copenhagen Energy has filed its new proposal with the Federal Department of Water and the Environment for initial review. It hopes to kick off construction works in 2028 and produce first power from the complex in 2030. The Mid West Offshore Wind Farm is planned to include up to 200 turbines and six substations, to be installed between 10 km and 70 km off the town of Kalbarri, north of Geraldton. Once in operation, the complex is expected to generate electricity for about three million homes and businesses and offset up to six million tonnes of carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions annually.
