Scope :
Meghri Hydro Power Plant is a 100MW hydro power project. It is planned on Aras/Arax river/basin in Syunik, Armenia. It will be developed in a single phase. The project construction is likely to commence in 2024 and is expected to enter into commercial operation in 2027.
Description
The project is being developed and currently owned by Farab.
Meghri Hydro Power Plant is a run-of-river project. The net head of the project will be 90m. The project is expected to generate 800 GWh of electricity. The project cost is expected to be around $323m.
The hydro power project consists of 2 turbines, each with 50MW nameplate capacity.
Development status
The project construction is expected to commence from 2024. Subsequent to that it will enter into commercial operation by 2027.
