Scope :
Construction of 705-megawatt high-efficiency natural gas plant at Hutchinson in Reno County. The plant in Reno County will start providing electricity in 2030.
There will be days where we rely on those fuel-free resources like wind and solar, other days where we’ll need a plant that’s ready to come online at a moment’s notice. This plant gives us the ability to have those options, have those toggles, in an effort to keep prices stable for our customers going forward. Plant will employ up to 40 people with salaries over $90,000.
