Meaford Power Storage Tender

ScopeTC Energy has announced the Department of National Defence has conditionally approved construction of what the company says would be Ontarios largest energy storage project near Meaford at the 4th Canadian Division Training Centre.The proposed multi-billion-dollar pumped-storage hydroelectric plant has DNDs approval subject to conditions and regulatory approval.TC Energy proposes to pump water from Georgian Bay at night when energy demand is lower then release it through power-generating turbines by day when demand for electricity is higher by 2028 if all goes to plan.The DND approval allows for more on-site environmental and engineering work and the start of impact and environmental assessment processes with federal and provincial governments in late 2021.
