Mchuchuma Power Plant Tender

Scope :
The Mchuchuma Power Plant is 600MW coal fired power project. It is planned in Iringa, Tanzania. It will be developed in multiple phases. The project construction is likely to commence in 2025 and is expected to enter into commercial operation in 2026.

Description

The project is being developed by Tanzania China International Mineral Resources. Sichuan Hongchang Electric power and National Development Corporation, Tanzania are currently owning the project having ownership stake of 80% and 20% respectively.

It is a Steam Turbine power plant. The fuel will be procured from Mchuchuma Coal Mine.

The project cost is expected to be around $1,300m.

Development status

The project construction is expected to commence from 2025. Subsequent to that it will enter into commercial operation by 2026.
