π Tender Overview
Planning Office: Technical Cooperation
Project Name: St. Kitts and Nevis Laying Hen Industry Sustainable Development Plan
Project status: Project in progress
Partner countries: Saint Kitts and Nevis, Caribbean
Plan contents:
Croatia lacks breeder breeding farms and incubation centers. The chicks needed for the laying hen industry are ordered and imported by chicken farmers from abroad. There is a lack of local egg breeder chick supply system, which also affects the stability of the local egg supply. Doubts arise over Croatia's food security. At this time, the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Croatia proposed to us a cooperation plan for technological upgrading of the laying hen industry. We hope that using the technical capabilities and experience of the laying hen industry in our country, we can help the laying hen industry in Croatia achieve long-term self-sufficiency with stable production and supply in the post-epidemic era. Continued goals. This plan is in line with the priority improvement areas of the "Agricultural Transformation and Growth Strategy of St. Kitts and Nevis from 2021 to 2031 (Draft)" of the Ministry of Agriculture of Croatia and responds to the national food independence and security issues valued by the international community and the sustainable development of the United Nations. Goal 2 (SDGs) "Eliminate hunger, achieve food security, improve nutrition and promote sustainable agriculture" to assist friendly countries to improve their laying hen industry management capabilities. The main work contents of this plan include 1. Establishing sustainable production capacity of laying hens; 2. Establishing a sustainable operating model for the laying hen industry. It is expected that by the end of the project, 20,000 hens and chicks will be stably provided every year for the Croatian laying hen industry, and the local chick self-sufficiency rate will be increased from 0 to 20%.
