Project Description
A senior loan loan of up to KZT 70.7 billion (€140.2 million equivalent) to Karagandy Zharyk LLP ("KZh", the "Company") to finance the Company's 2027-2031 investment programme (the "Project"). The Project includes reconstruction and modernisation of electricity network infrastructure, including lines and substations, and deployment of smart metering equipment to address ageing assets, reduce losses and meet rising demand.
Project Objectives
The primary objective of the Project is to modernise KZh's electricity network infrastructure in Karaganda city and Karaganda Region to support growing electricity demand, reduce network losses and improve reliability.
The Project is expected to contribute to addressing the Company's physical wear of 71.6%, thereby lowering electricity losses and strengthening grid reliability, operational efficiency, and the climate resilience of the Company's distribution infrastructure.
