DESCRIPTION: The project consists of the construction of a 127 km greenfield railway line, which is a railway bypass of the Istanbul metropolitan area across the Istanbul Strait (Bosphorus). The project includes a double-tracked, electrified and mixed-used (passengers and freight) railway line equipped with European Railway Traffic Management System (ERTMS) Level 1.
OBJECTIVES
The project supports the development of a high-capacity, electrified railway connection across the Bosphorus Strait, contributing to sustainable transport, enhanced regional connectivity, climate action and the resilience of the Trans-Caspian Transport Corridor.
