๐ Tender Overview
Scope : To Build the Ipoh Mall in Perak, Malaysia
Malaysian mall operator Sunway has launched Ipoh Mall, set to be the largest in Perak when it opens by 2027.
The mallโs total development cost is more than $US222.3 million (RM1 billion), with more than 1 million square feet of net lettable area (NLA) across four retail floors. It will also be designed to blend in with Tambunโs natural landscape.
Moreover, it will house the stateโs first ice skating rink, an exhibition centre, a 36-lane bowling centre, a multipurpose sports facility, a gourmet garden, and a 10-hall cinema with a seating capacity of approximately 1500.
Sunwayโs CEO, HC Chan, expressed his confidence in the groupโs strategy to focus on Perak, building the township to be a pit-stop for travellers on the North-South Expressway.
This is part of Sunway Mallโs strategic direction to grow its retail space outside of Klang Valley by tapping into underserved markets and replicating the success of Sunway Carnival in Penang.
With the addition of the Ipoh Mall, Sunwayโs northern region will form 29 per cent of the total NLA, up from 14 to 15 per cent.
