📋 Tender Overview
Scope : To Build an International Cricket Stadium in the Peth Road areas in Nashik, Maharashtra
The Nashik Municipal Corporation (NMC) will build an international cricket stadium in the Peth Road areas at Rs180 crore, which would be spent in phases over next few years.
The cricket stadium, which will be spread over sprawling 35 acres across the Panchavati division, is expected to be ready in the next four to five years.
This will be the first international cricket stadium in north Maharashtra to be built.
The civic body has already floated a bid to develop the cricket stadium with a seating capacity of 25,000 people.
Initially, levelling of the land, construction of a retaining wall and other works are to be carried out at Rs 30 crore this financial year. The last date for filing the bid is May 22.
NMC’s general body had approved the project in 2021 when BJP was in office in the civic body. The then city mayor Satish Kulkarni had approved the proposal to construct the stadium.
But the five-year term of the civic body ended in March 2022 and the municipal commissioner was appointed as administrator of the civic body. The project was delayed for one year as the administrators concerned did not boost the project. Two administrators Kailas Jadhav and Ramesh Pawar were transferred from the civic body during the last two years.
Municipal commissioner Chandrkant Pulkundwar took over the charge of the NMC in July last year. Now, the administration has taken the initiative and given a boost to the project by inviting tender for the purpose.
